Teeth Whitening

Overview
Teeth whitening is a cosmetic dental procedure designed to lighten the color of natural teeth, removing stains and discolorations. Over time, factors such as aging, consumption of certain foods and beverages (like coffee, tea, and red wine), tobacco use, and poor oral hygiene can contribute to tooth staining. Teeth whitening procedures aim to rejuvenate the appearance of the smile by brightening and enhancing the natural shade of the teeth.
Whitening During Orthodontic Treatment
Unfortunately for patients who are in braces, we’ve got to wait to whiten your teeth after your braces come off as there’s no way to fabricate a custom whitening tray that will fit over your braces. However, if you’re an Invisalign patient, we can whiten your teeth as we straighten, using your custom Invisalign trays to apply the whitening gel into. Dr. Carbonella always includes some professional tooth whitening gel with every teen and adult Invisalign patient! Also, you don’t have to be an orthodontic patient of Dr. Carbonella to whiten your teeth, we offer whitening outside of orthodontic treatment as well!
